Welcome to Creating WildHaven!
This is where I’m documenting the real-life process of transforming our land into WildHaven—a more beautiful, productive, intentional place built around gardens, animals, gathering spaces, good food, thoughtful design, and a deeper connection to the land.
We are starting from the beginning.
There is no finished food forest, perfectly designed homestead, completed garden, or polished property waiting behind the scenes.
There is simply a vision, a piece of land with enormous potential, and a long list of projects we are figuring out one step at a time.
And that is exactly what I want to share here.
Creating WildHaven is not just about showing the finished result. It is about documenting the planning, building, planting, experimenting, mistakes, lessons, improvements, and everyday decisions that eventually create the place we imagine.
If you are dreaming of creating something similar—whether you have acreage, a backyard, a small garden, or simply want your home and life to feel more intentional—you are in the right place.
What We’re Creating
WildHaven is our long-term vision for creating a property that works with nature while also becoming a beautiful place to live, grow food, care for animals, gather people, and enjoy everyday life.
Over time, we plan to create and improve areas throughout the property including:
- Permaculture gardens and edible landscapes
- A food forest
- Productive vegetable and herb gardens
- Beautiful and functional animal spaces
- Chicken gardens and rotational forage areas
- Outdoor gathering and dining spaces
- Property buildings and DIY projects
- Seasonal gardens and landscaping
- Spaces for cooking, hosting, and gathering
- Systems that make homestead life easier and more efficient
Eventually, the larger WildHaven vision may also include workshops, gatherings, retreats, animal sanctuary work, seasonal events, and other opportunities for people to experience WildHaven in person.
But we are building it one project at a time.

Everything I share fits within three main parts of the WildHaven journey.
Building WildHaven
This is where you can follow the physical transformation of the property.
I share the planning, projects, improvements, before-and-afters, building decisions, design ideas, materials, mistakes, costs, and lessons that go into creating WildHaven.
You’ll find projects such as:
- Chicken coop improvements
- Animal areas
- Garden structures
- Outdoor gathering spaces
- DIY projects
- Property organization
- Landscaping
- Buildings and infrastructure
- Before-and-after transformations
If we are building, repairing, improving, designing, or figuring something out around the property, you will probably see it here.
Growing WildHaven
Growing WildHaven is about creating a productive landscape that works with nature instead of against it.
This is where I share what we are learning about:
- Permaculture
- Food forests
- Vegetable gardening
- Fruit trees
- Berries
- Herbs
- Edible landscaping
- Companion planting
- Soil improvement
- Composting
- Pollinators
- Chicken-friendly planting
- Growing food
- Caring for animals as part of a larger homestead system
I am not approaching this as someone who already has everything figured out.
You will see what we try, what works, what fails, what we change, and what we learn as the property develops.
Living WildHaven
WildHaven is not only about what we build outside.
It is also about creating a home and everyday life that feels beautiful, functional, welcoming, and intentional.
Living WildHaven includes:
- Seasonal cooking
- Garden-to-table food
- Homemaking
- Home organization
- Decorating
- Simple home systems
- Hosting and gathering
- Seasonal living
- Creating peaceful and functional spaces
- Making everyday life at home work better
The goal is not perfection.
It is creating systems and surroundings that make it easier to enjoy the life we are working so hard to build.
Meet Courtney & Ramon
We’re Courtney and Ramon, and WildHaven is our home, our property, and our long-term vision.
Creating WildHaven is my way of documenting what happens as we turn that vision into something real.
There will be finished projects and beautiful spaces, but there will also be unfinished projects, changed plans, muddy boots, things that do not work the first time, and plenty of learning along the way.
I believe that is part of what makes the journey worth sharing.
Rather than waiting until WildHaven is complete, I want you to be able to follow it from the beginning.
You’re Joining at the Beginning
One of the most important things to know about Creating WildHaven is that you have not arrived after everything is finished.
You are arriving while we are building it.
Right now there are projects waiting to be started, gardens waiting to be planted, spaces waiting to be redesigned, systems that need improving, and ideas that still need to be tested.
That means you will be able to watch WildHaven evolve in real time.
You will see the original spaces.
The plans.
The work.
The mistakes.
The changes.
The finished result.
And then probably the next project.
My hope is that along the way you find ideas, systems, inspiration, and practical lessons that help you create your own version of WildHaven—wherever you live.
Start With the WildHaven Journey
Creating WildHaven is being built in real time, one project, system, and season at a time.
If you’re new here, begin with the first chapter:
Creating WildHaven: Why Building the Dream Begins at Home
This is the story behind the WildHaven vision, why I’m beginning with the systems that support everyday life, and how that foundation connects to everything we hope to build on the land.
Create a More Peaceful Home While You’re Here
WildHaven may be a long-term project, but creating a home that feels calmer and more manageable can start much sooner.
I created the Weekly Home Reset Guide to help you reset your home each week without spending your entire day cleaning and organizing.
It is a simple checklist designed to help clear the clutter, reset the main areas of your home, and make the week ahead feel more manageable.
When you download the guide, you’ll also join the Creating WildHaven email list, where I’ll share new projects, practical ideas, behind-the-scenes progress, seasonal inspiration, and what we’re learning as WildHaven grows.

Follow Along
Creating WildHaven is just getting started.
Follow along as we build, grow, improve, experiment, cook, plant, organize, host, and slowly turn this vision into something real.
I’m glad you’re here at the beginning.
Welcome to WildHaven.
